Recognition and thanks are owed to two of our Agricultural Commission members for work they’ve done representing Canterbury farmers at the state level. For their outstanding achievements and contributions to NH agriculture, Vice Chairman Ben Davis was recently awarded the Kenneth R. Marshall Memorial Award, and former chairman Wayne Mann was posthumously bestowed with the President’s Award by the New Hampshire Farm Bureau Federation.
The Kenneth R. Marshall Award is awarded annually to a Farm Bureau member who embodies the spirit of volunteerism. This award was created in memory of former NHFB administrator Ken Marshall and recognizes someone who selflessly shares their time, energy and agricultural knowledge with others without expecting anything in return.
The President’s Award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated exceptional service to the Farm Bureau and the agricultural community. In addition to his many years of service as Chairman of Canterbury’s Agricultural Commission, Wayne was also a former president of NHFB and was recognized for his leadership and unwavering advocacy for NH farms.
I believe the NH Farm Bureau selected two excellent recipients for these awards and our Canterbury agricultural community is fortunate to have benefited from their representation at the State level. Thank you Ben and Wayne.
