We had so much fun learning about our feathered friends during Cloverbuds in March! To begin our meeting we listened to a few books about birds, feathers, eggs and nests. We talked about the ways in which birds are unique in the animal kingdom. The kids then painted beautiful birdhouses. Each was special and original. Participants also crafted bird feeders out of upcycled plastic water bottles and wood spoons. This project was a great way for Cloverbud members to reduce waste as well as to feed the birds until spring arrives. The Cloverbuds were definitely in fine feather at our March meeting!
Here is what we will be up to in April! On Monday, April 8, at 5 pm (we will meet on the 2nd Monday in April due to Easter), we will focus on the 4H Learning Theme of Plants and Animals. We will be learning all about seeds. Members will create mosaic art using different kinds of seeds. We will plant seeds so we can observe them as they grow. Additionally, members will taste all the parts of plants: roots, stems, leaves, and flowers. Come and join the fun!
