Volunteers wanted for Riverland Project April 27

The Conservation Commission is looking for volunteers to help cut down invasive plants at the Riverland on Saturday, April 27, from 9 am to noon. We’re continuing our efforts to reduce the growth of invasive plants across the property. This event will cut down tall growth so that our annual mowing can cover more territory.

Reach the Riverland by heading west on Route 4. Take the first exit at the Market Basket rotary onto Old Boyce Roa. Stay left at the immediate fork. Follow about 1 mile to parking lot entrance on the left.

We will meet in the parking lot at 9 am. (If you arrive later, follow signs to the work site.) Please bring your own tools, primarily loppers, clippers and hand saws. Fixed-blade trimmers would also be helpful.

Please dress to contend with prickers and bugs: sturdy shoes, gloves, hats, eye protection and bug proofing highly recommended! The event will go on in drizzle or fog, but will be rescheduled in case of steady rain.
