Cloverbuds go from plants to citizenship

In April, the Canterbury 4H Cloverbuds learned about plants. First, we learned about the parts of a plant, and what plants need to grow. Then the Cloverbuds got to taste different vegetables that are different parts of plants. Cloverbuds tried carrots (roots), celery (stem), spinach (leaf), cauliflower (flower), pumpkin seeds (seeds), and apples (fruits)! Cloverbud members also made silly faces on cups and then planted grass seeds in the cups, so when the grass seed grows it will look like the hair! We enjoyed learning about plants and meeting new friends at the meeting!

We are looking forward to our next meeting on Monday, May 6, when our 4H Learning Theme will be Citizenship and Civic Education. We will prepare for the Memorial Day parade by making club T-shirts featuring the 4-leaf clover, which is the 4H emblem. We will also be making flags to carry and share at the parade. Then, on May 27 we will walk with other members and groups in the community in the parade. Come and join the fun!

Cloverbuds is a 4H club for children ages 5-7. New members are always welcome.
