Come explore Deepwood Forest!

Join the Conservation Commission and landowners Ken and Ilene Stern on Saturday, May 4, from 10 am to noon to celebrate the conservation of 385 acres along the town’s northern border. To join the fun, arrive by 10 am and walk 10 minutes to the wildflower meadow, where we’ll have a brief celebration and orientation to the property.

After that, we’re offering three walking options. The briefest is to return to your car from the wildflower meadow (~10 mins). For the mid-length option, Ken and Ilene will lead a walk to the beaver pond (about 1 hour roundtrip). For the long haul, Sylvia Bates and Tom Masland will lead a walk around the northwest loop (~2 hours roundtrip).

Please carpool as much as possible; parking is limited! To get to Deepwood Forest, turn onto Bean Hill Road near 374 Baptist Hill Road. Deepwood Forest is about 1,000 feet in on the left. Wear sturdy walking shoes, bring water, and be prepared in case the black flies crash the party! Event is on, rain or shine!
