The Annual Canterbury Plant Swap will be held on Wednesday, May 1, from 6 to 7 pm at the gazebo in the center of town. Bring your labeled, divided perennials, bulbs, and natives, or extra flower and vegetable seedlings you might have.
Due to the transmission of the invasive jumping worm that can happen when swapping plants, we ask that you bring all dug plants as bare root. Use a high-pressure setting on your hose to spray all soil off. Bring your plants in shallow trays or plastic bags with enough water to keep the roots moist. For more information about the invasive jumping worm visit extension.unh.edu/resource/plant-sales-and-jumping-worms
This swap is open to anyone in town no matter your level of gardening experience. If you’re new to Canterbury, it’s a great way to pick up some plants to landscape your yard and meet your neighbors at the same time. There’s always plenty to share so come even if you don’t have much to bring.
Master Gardener Meg Miller will be on hand with gardening handouts, and will help answer your gardening questions. Call Meg at 603-387-1366 if you have any questions.
