Cloverbuds are heading to the Glines Farm

In May, the Cloverbuds worked to prepare for the town Memorial Day Parade. The Cloverbuds made T-shirts with the 4H emblem, the four-leaf clover. The Cloverbuds also crafted flags and pinwheels to wave and carry during the parade. As a club, we talked about why we celebrate Memorial Day, and why it is important to honor those who have served our country. The children are very excited to march in the parade in Canterbury! We thank the town for inviting us to participate in this special event!

Here is what we are up to!

On Monday, May 27, at 9:30 am, the Cloverbuds will meet at the Canterbury Elementary School parking lot and walk in the Canterbury Memorial Day Parade. We will then stay for the Memorial Day events at the gazebo in the center of town.

On Monday, June 3, at 5 pm, we will meet on the theme of plants and animals at the Glines Farm to learn about dairy farming. Cloverbuds will learn about how the farm cares for the cows and will get to watch cows being milked. Participants will also learn to make butter from the fresh milk. This is by far our favorite meeting of the year! Come and join the fun!

Cloverbuds is a 4H club for children ages 5-7. New members are always welcome. If you have questions or would like more club information, please contact Kate Mason and Emily Perlet at canterburycloverbuds@gmail.com. Cloverbuds meetings are typically held on the first Monday of each month at 5 pm at the Canterbury Parish House, 6 Hackleboro Road.
