Merrimack Valley WindowDressers is looking for people who would like to make their homes warmer this coming winter. Are you one of them? We are holding a Community Build event that will provide low-cost, custom-built window inserts that can be easily installed as interior storms. These lightweight, well-made inserts will save homeowners money on heating while making homes more comfortable. They pay for themselves in two years! It is expected that 1/3 of them will be free or discounted to ensure that everyone who needs them can lower their energy bills. Do not let cost keep you from ordering!
Windows will be measured this summer by community volunteers. With the help of the WindowDressers nonprofit, the windows will be built during a six-day community “build” (think barn raising) at the Canterbury Town Hall in mid-November. Everyone getting windows will volunteer in some way, either at the build itself, or providing some food for the meals for the builders. See the WindowDressers.org website for more info and pictures of the window inserts and the build event.
If you have questions or want to sign up to get windows, email the local Merrimack Valley Team at MVWindowDressers@gmail.com. If anyone would like to volunteer to help, please call Ruth Heath at 603-724-4343 or Claudia Leidinger 603-568-4713. This is sponsored by the Canterbury Energy Committee, the Loudon Lions Club and the Loudon Energy Committee.
If you’d like more information, come to the information session on Monday, June 10, at 7 pm at Charlie’s Barn (the Loudon Community Center and Historical Society building) in Loudon Village.
