Remembering Timothy B. Reidsema

Timothy B. (Tim) Reidsema, 61, of Canterbury, NH, went home to be with the Lord on June 14, 2024, with his wife and family by his side, after a courageous 2-year battle with Glioblastoma.

Tim is survived by his wife of 34 years, Rosemarie (Musumeci) Reidsema, his stepsons, Jonathan Bardwell, Charles Bardwell and his wife Erika Bardwell, his grandson, Vinnie Bardwell, his father, Russell Reidsema of Navarre, Florida, his 2 sisters, Margaret Dumadag of Anaheim, California, and Pauline Carr of Pensacola, Florida, and many, many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother, Cynthia (Fuller) Deoss, and his nephew, Caston Carr.

Tim was born in Colorado Springs, Colo., on May 13, 1963, to Russell Reidsema and Cynthia (Fuller) Deoss. He graduated from Lewis Palmer High School, where he was on the wrestling and soccer teams.

After graduating from high school, he moved to Concord, NH, where he met his wife and became a stepfather/mentor to her 2 sons. He worked for Landforms Ltd. where he enjoyed building walls, walkways and outdoor living spaces. He was also a heavy equipment operator. He played for a time with the Concord Centours Soccer team, and coached a Loudon children’s soccer team for his stepsons.

Tim received his Associate’s Degree in Nursing, and was also a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

Tim had a love for life, enjoyed visiting family in California and Florida, going on men’s retreats, and mentoring people. Tim was famous for his great big bear hugs, his full mustache, big, beautiful smile, and contagious laugh!

Tim enjoyed spending time at the family vacation house in Baileys Island, Maine, and also enjoyed his many fishing trips and men’s retreats with his father.

Tim was an avid fisherman, whether it be ice fishing, or deep sea fishing. He also enjoyed hunting, training his dogs to be bird hunters, teaching his grandson how to hunt, and enjoyed his yearly hunting trip up north with his good and longtime friend, Mike Faretra, and other good friends!

After moving to Canterbury, you would often see him mowing his lawn (which he was proud of!!), playing with his dogs, or working in his vegetable gardens with his wife and grandson. He was always more than happy to share his vegetables with friends and neighbors.

Tim went on two mission trips to Leyte, Philippines, where he helped rebuild homes and churches devastated by a hurricane in 2015-2016, taught the word of God and shared the Gospel. He also went on a mission trip to New York City, where he ministered to people experiencing homelessness and poverty and shared the Gospel of Jesus.

Tim was a very proud PaPa, teaching his grandson about gardening, mowing the lawn, riding the 4-wheeler, hunting, fishing, and also teaching him the word of God. They enjoyed each other’s company immensely!

Tim’s Celebration of Life service will be held at Grace Capital Church on Saturday, July 27, at 11 am. Tim requests all to please wear color, no black and white!

We would also like to thank the Granite VNA Hospice for their compassionate care, and also the staff at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, for all their help and support. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Tim’s name to the Granite VNA Hospice or Dana Farber Institute.
