Author Ty Gagne will present his book, The Last Traverse, at the Elkins Library on Tuesday, July 23, at 6 pm in what amounts to a special meeting of multiple book clubs as well as a highlight in the Elkins Speaker Series.

The Last Traverse is Gagne’s account of the events leading up to “an epic and legendary rescue attempt in severe and dangerous winter conditions” along Franconia Ridge in the White Mountains.

Wednesday, Aug. 21, at 5 pm: Film screening of The Quiet Epidemic, a documentary film about Lyme and tick-borne diseases with Lyme ecologist Kathie Fife and Lyme and tick-borne disease specialist Dr. Lynn Durand. (Note: this is a change of date.)

Tuesday, Aug. 27: The History of Quilts with Pamela Weeks. A collaboration with the Canterbury Country Store, and brought to the library through a special gift.
