Don’t miss these October talks in the Elkins Speaker Series

If Barns Could Talk presented by Mark Stevens, Thursday, Oct. 17, at 6 pm at the Town Hall. We are so pleased to have yet another great collaboration with the Canterbury Country Store. Check out the exhibit from Sept. 16 to Nov. 3 including objects from Steve Fifield out front of the store. Mark will be presenting a talk on the updated history of the current and long-forgotten barns in Canterbury.

Surviving Hitler: A Love Story presented by Claudia Damon on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at 6 pm in the Town Hall. This collaboration with the Canterbury Historical Society includes the viewing of the one-hour film about a Jewish teenager and an injured soldier who join a doomed plot to kill Hitler. They face almost certain death, yet luck and love shine upon them as they outwit Nazi terror and become the first couple married in post-war Berlin. After the film, we have a presentation by Claudia Damon, the daughter of this couple. Thank you, Fred Brewster, for bringing this great opportunity to the community.
