Gail Ober joined the staff at the Town Office for the position of Land Use Administrator. Gail will be working directly with the Planning Board, Zoning Board and Historic District Commission on applications and land use issues. Michelle Hammond has replaced Lois Scribner as Secretary to the Planning Board, HDC, and the Solid Waste Committee. Lois resigned to move to Pennsylvania to be closer to family. We want to thank Lois for all of her hard work over the last several years.
The Board of Selectmen have been meeting with the towns of Boscawen and Salisbury to discuss emergency medical transport services. We currently contract with Penacook Rescue Squad. The topics of the meetings have been the formula used to determine cost to each town and the impact of the number of responses to the Merrimack County facilities. The selectmen are hoping to meet with the Merrimack County Commissioners to discuss this issue.
The regular Board of Selectmen’s meetings will be on Oct. 7 and 12.
The Highway Department still has two vacancies and the Transfer Station has one vacancy. If you or someone you know might be interested, please see the job postings on the town website.
