Update from Canterbury Community Power Committee

We hold our meetings on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. In December, we had the pleasure of Sarah Brock, from Clean Energy NH, join our meeting! She shared a lot of valuable information that will help us going forward.

We continue our search for Generation Grants for Renewable Energy Generation, as well as  Distributed battery – BESS projects- Battery Energy Storage Systems. Canterbury residents have expressed frustration with cell coverage, and we have that on our “to do” list, as well.

At present, we have begun the steps for the weatherization of Elkins Public Library. We have suggested to the BOS to put in a warrant article to assist with funding of that project. Our goal is to eventually weatherize
all the municipal buildings.

CPCNH joined us for our January meeting. They went over the 2025 spring electric rates. Below are the CPCNH Supply Rates.

The Canterbury Basic rate allows our community to capitalize a fund to support local energy projects and programs that benefit our residents and businesses. To enroll, select the “local option” in the customer portal. Projects and programs enabled by the Canterbury Basic rate will be approved by the Board of Selectmen.

To change your default rate, or get more information, go to the CPCNH website.

CCPC continues to invite those that may have an interest in helping Canterbury with its goal of having the town buildings on renewable energy by 2035.  We encourage you to join us and bring your ideas!!

Meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month beginning at 7:00 pm or as posted and are held in the Municipal Complex.
