Dolly’s Come To Town

The Friends of Elkins Public Library (FOEPL) are very excited to announce that Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program is now available for Canterbury residents! Children aged 0-5 receive a FREE BOOK GIFT each month. Sign up at imaginationlibrary.com.

Also, keep an eye out, you may see Dolly (or a likeness of her) around town to help spread the word about this incredible program which currently spans
five countries and is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading.

FOEPL Says Thank You to All

FOEPL would like to express our gratitude for the support, kindness and generosity of all who attended the Irish Pub Night. The volunteer effort for this fundraising activity was outstanding and a good time was had by all.

The event was a huge success and the funds raised through the sale of raffle tickets and the donation jars will all be used to support the library’s growth. This could not have been accomplished without the support of FOEPL members, library staff and the wonderful people in attendance. And, of course, the fantastic performance by Jordan Tirrell-Wysocki!

What is FOEPL anyway?

FOEPL is a registered 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to support Elkins Public Library. We raise funds through membership dues and fundraising campaigns and then vote on purchase requests presented by library staff. Beyond fundraising, members of FOEPL support the library by maintaining the garden, placing seasonal decorations inside and outside the Elkins building, and supplying refreshments for events upon request.
