WindowDressers Info Session

Drafty Windows? Want to save $$ on heating?
WindowDressers info session
April 3, 6:30pm, Town Hall

Learn about our last Community Build (think barn-raising or quilting bee) where neighbors gathered to build 198 insulating window inserts that lowered heating bills, improved comfort while providing a clear view out the window. 1,297 gallons of heating oil was saved and 14 tons of carbon dioxide was not put in the atmosphere! **

We will again be holding a Community Build this November to allow more residents to save $$ on energy costs and lower their carbon footprint. If you want to improve your home’s energy efficiency with these low cost, lightweight storm windows, attend the April 3 event to learn more or email MerrimackValleyWD@gmail.com or go to WindowDressers.org Reduced cost or free inserts available.

Want to help but don’t need windows? Our goal is also to build community while building inserts. Knowing how Canterbury is famous for volunteer spirit, we are confident we’ll get lots of support from residents who can help by: measuring the windows of participants (this summer); working at one or more shifts at the Community Build (you’ll be trained to do one task on the assembly line); providing food for the lunches that are served between the
morning and afternoon shifts. Last year more than 75 volunteers worked on some aspect of the project.

**All of these calculations are based on: Medium-size insert (11 sq ft);
Oil-fired standard furnace; Average of single & double pane existing
windows; Window insert R-value of 2.00; $3.34/gallon oil price.
