Can you say Hügelkultur? Pronounced “hyoo-gul-kulture,” meaning “mound culture.” This is a centuries-old German gardening technique to make raised beds filled with rotting wood, and organic waste. These self-watering, self-fertilizing, and self-tilling mounds, often used in permaculture, offer superior nutrient-rich soil, retain moisture, and extend growing seasons through decomposition heat. The Garden Club will meet for a hands-on demo and building of a Hügelkultur bed. Join us at 107 Baptist Hill Rd. All are welcome!! No experience necessary. Come ready to participate.
