Historic House Signs

Last Call! A reminder for anyone wanting an Historic Sign for their old (or not so old) house. The name on your sign can be the name of the original owner or it can acknowledge a family that lived and flourished there in later years. Information and order forms are posted on the Canterbury Historical Website (www.canterburyhistory.org).

Article of the Month

Our website’s Feature Article for June is entitled: “Freedom’s Legacy: The Journey of Lucy Carey” by Sue Russell, chair of The Historic Canterbury Women’s Committee. The Committee promotes the stories of outstanding women who have lived, and who still live, in Canterbury. (www.canterburyhistory.org).

Historic Canterbury Women Monthly Committee Meeting, Wed., June 17, 10am, Elkins Library

More hands make light work!  The Historic Canterbury Women’s Committee is looking for curious minds to join our mission. Whether you are a writer, a researcher, or simply someone who loves a good story, your hands are needed to help us document the incredible lives of local women from the past to the present. Be a part of the team that turns ‘lost history and stories’ into a living archive for our town and for future generations. Have a piece of history? If you have letters, photographs, or memories of Canterbury women, please join us at our meeting or reach out via email. Let’s ensure these legacies are preserved for generations to come. Email us at: historiccanterburywomen@gmail.com
