For July/Aug, the Canterbury Historical Society article of the Month is “The Canterbury Fair” by Lisa Carlson (Canterbury Fair Chair or Co-Chair since 1994), with help from “The Canterbury Fair 1959 – 1999” (by Robert Lockwood and David Tirrell-Wysocki). Find the article, and many more, at our website.

Historic Canterbury Women Next Meeting Wed., July 15,
10am at the Library
Bringing Canterbury women into the light of history is the goal of the Historic Canterbury Women study group of the Canterbury Historical Society. The Historic Canterbury Women’s Committee is looking for curious minds to join our mission. Whether you are a writer, a researcher, or simply someone who loves a good story, your help is needed to help us document the incredible lives of local women from the past to the present. Be a part of the team that turns ‘lost history and stories’ into a living archive for our town and for future generations.
Have a piece of history? If you have letters, photographs, or memories of Canterbury women, please join us at our meeting or reach out via email. We gather once a month at the library to develop our ideas and welcome women and men who want to learn more and bring fresh ideas to our forum. Enjoy our stories at the Historical Society website. Look for “Freedoms Legacy”, and “One year…”.
