— Thank you to all who showed up for our first “Grappone Ford Oil Change Tricentennial Fundraiser”! We so appreciate your support. And if you missed, don’t worry – we’re planning to do a few more in 2027. Many thanks to Amanda Grappone and the team at Grappone Ford for supporting the Tricentennial!
— Tricentennial Tribute Project In the Works: The Tricentennial Committee is working on plans for a historic reproduction Carriage Shed for Canterbury Center. The project is currently under consideration by the Town boards and trustees and will be voted on at Town Meeting in March 2027. The proposed structure will be a covered space where residents can gather to learn, celebrate, perform, and attend events. The goal is to construct and fund this project through community donations and involvement (e.g. monetary, materials, labor). Once completed, the building will be given to the Town of Canterbury and will include an endowment for ongoing maintenance. For more information, visit: canterburyhistory.org/shed or look for info & flyers at the Elkin Public Library and around town!
— Cheers to Principal Chubb and all the teachers at CES for their Tricentennial inspired programs on time travel, quilting, and more! They’re even going to learn our wonderful Tricentennial song (written by Tim Gurshin!) for events in 2027.
— Cheers to our Tricentennial Tree-Sitters! Reminder: It’s time to put your trees to bed for the winter. Consider putting the pots into the ground and surrounding them with mulch or leaves for protection during upcoming winter months. Fingers crossed they over-winter well and will be ready to go to permanent homes in the spring of 2027!

— The Tricentennial Police Badge is here! 300 Cheers to Peter Krautmann for his contest winning design that will be shown on the Canterbury Police Badges in 2027. (in the picture) Peter (center) with Scott Doherty, Chief Crotty, and Officer Dumas at the CES ceremony.
