No regular children’s programming during April Vacation Week (April 27–May 1).

We have something going on every day of the week!

Chess Mates: Mondays at 3:30 pm. An hour of chess for all skill levels. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult, and a permission form is required. Final session: April 20, followed by a small celebration.

Story Time: Tuesdays at 10:00 am. Stories, songs, and a craft —perfect for preschoolers!

LEGO Club: Tuesdays, 3:00–4:15 pm.Build, create, and connect! Duplos available for younger children. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult (EPL Safe Child Policy).

Pins and Needles: Wednesdays at 2:00 pm, Fireplace Parlor. A friendly group for knitting, crochet, and mending. All skill levels.

Tunes, Tales & Tumbles: Thursdays at 10:00 am. Singing, dancing, instruments, and more—ideal for our littlest patrons.

Outdoor Story Time: Thursdays at 2:00 pm. Celebrate the warmer weather with stories and nature-based play. Rain or shine.

Free Tech Help: Thursdays, 4–6 pm (by appointment). Call to reserve a 30-minute session—spots fill quickly. Thank you, Kal!

Canterbury Chess Club: 2nd & 4th Thursdays at 5:00 pm. 
A casual, all-ages meetup with flexible time controls. Bring a favorite board or use one of ours.

Free Seed Library: Now fully stocked! No library card needed—open to all. Why not a Victory Garden and grow extra to share!

Library of Things (L.O.T.): Borrow from over 50 items for one week — try before you buy or use for a one-time need.

Old Man Boring Book Club (OMBBC): April 2 at 6:00 pm
A nonfiction book group with discussion and informal reports.

Granite VNA Program: Honoring Life’s Final Journey: 
Wed., April 15, 3:30–5:00 pm. An informative and compassionate discussion on hospice care, advance directives, and end-of-life planning. Through open dialogue, participants will gain insights into hospice services, advance care planning, and the emotional journey of both individuals and their families. Presented by Rev. Duane Bailey, M.D., Spiritual Care Counselor, Hospice, with Brooke Noonan assisting with advance directives and notary services. We’re grateful to Granite VNA for their ongoing partnership and programs on aging, health, and caregiving.

Granite VNA is one of our favorite community partners and have hosted multiple programs focused on aging and health, balance, memory care, caregiver support, slip and falls, and end of life decisions. Stay tuned for more upcoming events!

Teen Night: Paint Night: Tues., April 21 at 5:00 pm.

Earth Day Crochet: Wed., April 22 at 3:30 pm. All ages welcome! Gather by the fireplace and learn to crochet a reusable washcloth/dishcloth. Bring 100% cotton yarn and a size F/5 hook. Call ahead if you need materials!

The Extraordinary Caterpillar, Wed., April 8, 6pm, Town Hall.

We’re hosting a special screening of a beautifully shot 
60-minute documentary that reveals the vital—and often overlooked—role caterpillars play in our ecosystems and sustaining life on earth. Sponsored by Elkins Public Library. Hosted by Donna Miller, Advanced Master Gardener with guests Diane DeLuca, NH Audubon and Allyson Mulcahy, Tanglewood Hollow who will do a Q&A after the documentary. 

Earth Day Event:

Everyone’s Trash: One Man Against 1.6 Billion Pounds, with Duncan Watson, Wed., April 22, 6pm, Town Hall

Join us on Earth Day for a special presentation by Duncan Watson. In his talk, based on his book “Everyone’s Trash,” Watson challenges communities to rethink waste, showing that diverting up to 80% from landfills is both achievable and cost-effective.

Community Read: To celebrate his visit, we’ve borrowed multiple copies of Everyone’s Trash through NH Reads To Go. Books will be available the week of April 13—stop by and pick one up!
