Opening Day and Shaker 5k: Sat., May 16 at 9:00am.
The Capital Area Race Series returns to the Village on Saturday, May 16 to kick off the season! The race at the Village is a 5K, cross-country event, which wraps around the Village’s trails, fields, ponds, and pastures. “Raise the Roof Barn Dances: Thurs., May 21 at 7:30-9:30pm
A hot live band of David Millstone (caller), Jordan Tirrell-Wysocki (fiddler), and Sue Hunt (pianist) sing out the calls and play lively, foot-stomping square dances in a historic North Shop at Canterbury Shaker Village. The dances will be taught (no prior experience necessary), couples and singles are welcome, and all proceeds support the Village’s building repair fund. The second dance of the series will occur Thurs., June 18.
Movers and Shakers Trail Club: Sat., May 30 at 9:30-11:00am
Monthly trail club at Canterbury Shaker Village! Appreciate the 200-year history and legacy of the Canterbury Shakers at this National Historic Landmark, enjoy 4-miles of trails with both active (walking, running) and creative (photography, plein-air painting, reading with a view) recreation on the Village’s 694 acres, and cultivate new connections with an evolving community of like-minded people. Meets last Saturday of every month at the Garden Barn.
